Been around the block a few times😉
Has anyone cut out a larger door opening and fitted a wider door and frame ?
Not looked into it yet but I'm assuming that the wall will be a sandwich construction aluminium and plywood/insulation.

Lol Mike I'm only 12 stone :D

Yeah but only 4ft 2ins tall.

Assume you need a wider door opening for disabled access? There are a few firms around who convert for disabled, can't remember any names but have seen their ads.

Thanks @TerryL
Yes not for me but a friend we were chatting yesterday about the possibility of making it wheelchair accessible it seemed fairly straightforward at a glance.
Hopefully the various places will be open in the morning to get a few ideas.

With great care and a little nounce, opening up the door frame should be Do-able..... .the cost of buying the specialised frame and door may make you wish you hadn't even considered it.

Glad I proof read that....autocorrect changed little NOUNCE to little NONCE.

Be interesting to know how you get on, perhaps with a few pictures?

Will do its not my van but all being well the rough plan is the larger garage door is being replaced with the new door, new floor to lift the garage up to the main floor level creating a new wet room/access into the dining area. Double bed cupboards shower etc to be stripped out obviously plans might change to suit as we start stripping out.

Sounds a big project - good luck with it.

Made a start today still loads to do but the area has been stripped out and door & frame cut out & fixed in place & made weather tight
