I was trying to fill up the LPG, as you know sometimes it's very hard getting the hose out of the pump. I pulled towards my filler point and ended up flat on my back with the filler nozzle still in my hand.

The joiner had disconnected as I pulled !!

According to the manager it's my fault because I pulled too hard !!!

Beware Polegate services East Sussex.

Absolute bollox ! I once saw a car and caravan drive off from a petrol pump with the petrol nozzle still in the car, it pulled the pump over which then got wedged under the caravan !

Why does it always happen to us?
75 years old and it’s obviously your fault, couldn’t be the bloke who had obviously carried out work on it in the past and never tested it after he finished.
How about you contact them and say you are considering a claim because you have hurt your back because of their negligence, that should get a response!

That’s the way to go!

yeah but if you end up in court you're going to have to reveal that you are in fact a retired black belt alligator wrestler / caber tosser, typical van scum, and its not going to go well for you. 75 years old is no defence. (But seriously, Ingwe is right. If they're running an LPG dispenser that a pensioner destroys with his bare hands, they have a serious problem that no judge must hear about).
