From a thread running on the Irish motorhome forum , typical negative councils. I know North wales is also anti campervans/motorhomes how many more .

Barriers erected at Donegal beaches to prevent overuse by camper vans

Donegal County Council has erected a number of height restriction barriers at some of the county's most popular beaches in a bid to cut down on camper vans overusing the facilities. The new height restrictors at Kinnegar, Killahoey and Shrove will come into effect today and last until September...

Just about to board ferry after 4 weeks touring Ireland. Noticed a few height barriers but these were at very popular places where we wouldn't have been able to park anyway so for those I'm not all that surprised. Elsewhere, places a bit out of the way and just as beautiful were no problem. Only used campsites twice, for laundry. Used pubs a couple or three times though.....
