I think Puddleduck makes a good point. I’m always worried about who administers the money, how is it distributed and who has their hand in the till.

and rightly so.
There are many who like to cream a bit off for "expenses" farther down the chain. Such a shame everyone cant be trusted.
Great idea by the OP but practicality is different.
Im in Murcia then Alicante Friday, and will be doing what I can with the residents association

I think we would. Most young people are wonderful but you only hear about the bad.

We've donated direct. One donation to the Cruz Roja (Red Cross) and another to Caritas. We've also taken three bin bags of blankets, towels, clothes, etc. to our drop off point and in the next hour or so, I'm off to a supermarket to spend €200 from our community cats fund on cat and dog food. Caroline, our Cat Lady, has raised this money for our abandoned cats through her sheer hard work. Our cats won't miss it, they're very well looked after.

Top of the chain also take thousands in salaries. Better to give to smaller charities.
