Dometic tech tower?

They’re high up, and if you don’t grease the hinges and put some insulation round it, they’re rubbish

We’ve got one in our 2014 Hymer and it’s alright, the Dometic 8505 fridge requires some care and modifications to get it right and the oven likewise but we’ve been using ours for nine years and it does the job.

Yes grease the hinges with proper heat grease and insulate it and it should be fine…….

Fridge - Replacement of heat transfer paste behind the fins.
Cleaning the flue and checking if the baffle is present.
Ensuring the door seals.
Installing fans, internal and rear (we’ve not done this)
Oven - Fitting insulation above the oven and accepting that the grill is crap.

Had 8505 TecTowers last 2 vans, odd minor problems with the first one last one no problems at all over 7 years.
Oven works well once sorted, grill not worth using.

The problem is that there is too much fake news about this tech tower..

Have had no real problems with our Techtower fridge/freezer/oven in the almost 9 years we have had it. As with all gas fridge's you need to keep the area around the ignitor and flue clean.

Replaced hinges on mine and greased the new ones then no problem. They are high up and the oven is small. Fridge was always good and then at ten years old it went in 2020 strong amonia smell. Too replace was going to cost £2500 just for the fridge /oven,had to come from Germany then fitting on top. This was by Camper U.K. No one else would touch it. I opted for a different fridge without oven.
I stripped it all out for spares but nobody wanted them so binned them.
