Dometic s4 hinged window

One of my windows has a thin plastic coating that is chipping at the corners. Should I remove this layer and if so, what should I use?

Is it similar to the film that most items with screens come fitted with, it is normally a simple matter of peeling off and discarding it. However, if it is more hard core than that, I would be inclined to leave it alone, it could be part of the laminating process.

Thank you Geoff. Good advice. It's firmly in place, so maybe I should leave it, but it's surface is very scratched affecting visibility. The other windows are clear.
