Duffie Have you tried pressing the reset button (!) on the far right of the control to see if that helps.
If that does not work the control panel can be removed if you press a lever/catch at the bottom centre of the control panel and pull it forward ,I think you may then find it possible to disconnect the multi plug on the rear it for now. (or remove the 12v fridge control panel fuse on the PSU)

I'm an oldbie MH number 10
I have the same fridge and had the same issue. I ended up unplugging the power completely (behind the fridge vent) counting to 10 and then plugging back in.

I think you will find that the on/off switch is part of the complete control panel and its PCB , which is on the rear of it , which would need replacing , unless it can be repaired or there is a poor connection at the multi plugs going to it.

Strange that it is only powered whilst hab electrics are on. I thought it should be permanent live.

yes you can remove it, unclips/screws, some plugs behind it that you unplug and replace. As mentioned it's the PCB that gets replaced which also contains the buttons. I would definitely play with it though, they can be a bugger. hold it in for a minute or so.

they are a bit pricey but then again, so is a fridge

Yes Easy to remove , the clip/lever is under the bottom centre of the control panel (It will need pulling out about 3" to fully remove it as it is also used as a battery holder for the controller on some fridge fitting installations).
The non AES PCB that your fridge has are normally a bit less expensive. (Jacksons Leisure are a good possible source)
