Dometic RM 8501 gas issues

Hi everyone, just joined the group, lots of useful information on this site.

I’ve an issue with a Dometic RM 8501 fridge where the gas flame lights and promptly goes out with no more sparking. It’s been to a specialist who changed out the burner and solenoid, cleaned everything with air and checked all the contacts, same issue. They recommend I purchase a replacement pcb (piece behind the front control panel). I went to another specialist afterwards and they also suspect it’s the pcb.

Has anyone else had this issue and did changing the pcb resolve it?

Currently in Sweden driving up to Lapland so will be on tinned food and black tea soon

Was the thermocouple changed with the burner?

The thermocouple is normally part of the burner unit on those when you purchase them.

Clean the contacts of the cables and plug into the PCB with contact cleaner thats often the problem , was told that by a dometic engineer....he said 9 times out of 10 its dirty contacts on the plug not the PCB .

I’ll try this on the PCB on the front of the fridge once I get to EHU. There’s a small PCB on the rear of the fridge too, the service engineer did say he’d cleaned the contacts on that, but I’ll check again anyway before I try and get the replacement PCB
