Hi All

Newbie here - long time lurker but first time poster so be gentle !!
I know this subject in part has been done to death so apologies in advance. Just hoping some of the
tech minded bods can help. I have EHU to an RCD protected consumer unit. From there I have a 2 gang DP socket.
Plugged into this I have a 3000w Renogy inverter. From one of the outlets on the Renogy I have a 1 gang DP socket
into which I want to plug a Dometic fridge. The fridge only works on 240V !!
As I understand it the Renogy has floating earth - the fridge instructions say the fridge has to be earthed.
Does the floating earth meet the criterea of earthing the fridge ?? If its unsafe then I will look to replace with a 12v
unit, although I would like to keep the Dometic if possible.
Any advice greatly welcomed !!
Thanks

The fridge is only 110W. Having an inverter of 3000W seems to be an overkill and not a very efficient use of your batteries. I assume you’re using the inverter for other things.

Yes - the inverter will be used for other things aswell - i was just concerned about the earthiing aspect of the fridge.

The Dometic RF60 is a 3 way fridge that will run on Gas/12v/240v. It will be most efficient on gas.

Lenny is correct, it's a 3-way fridge.

It will run on 230v but is nowhere near as efficient as a compressor fridge (whether 12v, 230v or both).

Are you saying that you have a 3-way fridge that does NOT work on 12v or gas, but only 230v? Is that why you want to run it on an inverter?

Anyway, welcome to the forum, I'm sure more knowledgeable people will be along shortly.

Correct - the fridge will only work on 230v - hence wanting to use on inverter.
Just want to make sure the earthing is OK.
