We have this unit in our 2019 Burstner, what a waste of space to grill half is burnt before the other half starts to toast, the oven either burns if you turn it up a bit or food comes out undercooked. I find it hard to belive given the cost of the van £80,000 plus it’s fitted with such a poor cooker. Anyone come up with an alternative that would fit in the small space?

They are poor.

I believe someone reported using additional insulation to improve the oven, although it may have been another brand

Makes a good bread bin though!

No problem with ours, use it regularly, need to turn food regularly, but otherwise couldn't be without it.
Poor for toast though as kit enough heat, and grill too low.

Our PVC has a Spinflo Caprice 2020 .. now part of the Thetford Group. .20 years old now, grill and oven are excellent.. wouldn't be without it ..

Bessy765 can you post a photo so we can suggest an alternative

We've got a Dometic oven and grill, not worth the space and takes ages to cook. Never used the grill, but the instructions for the oven do say warm it up for up to 15 mins prior to use. We tend to use the double skillet instead.

We get great toast using our "TFGear" sandwich maker. Very quick and effective, especially for croissants.

I think we’ll see air fryers being fitted instead, far more useful than those cr@py ovens. We had them in all our caravans and rarely used them in the end.

I have cooked roast dinners, baked potatoes, bread , pizza, et al just as we do at home .. so not all crappy . .

As for air fryer.. no thanks, you need EHU which we seldom use, or an expensive lithium battery bank, solar and inverter .. and sunshine

Propane has served us well for over 30 years .. don't need any 240v cooking appliances

Of course there are those who think differently and have a van full of 240v kit .. no right or wrong
