Hi all

I've a 9 series fridge in my Swift. We're about to head off for the weekend and I can't get the fridge working šŸ˜¬ I last used it a few months ago.

There's power to it (all the lights are on) and the gas is working as I can use the hob burners.

I can't hear the ignition clicking when I switch on and I've tried switching on and off a few times now.

Any ideas please? Thanks in advance!

If I've had the gas off for a while, even if I've got the hob working, it can take several full reset cycles before the fridge will light and be happy.
Thank you. Have switched on and off a good number of times now - or is there something else that amounts to a full reset please.?

Can you smell any gas near the burner with the outside cover removed? Gently tap the burner assembly in case any rust or carbon deposits have dropped onto the burner.

Could be the gas solinoid they often stick try giving it a tap.
Could this still be the issue even if I'm getting gas to the hob? Presumably the solinoid is in the cupboard with the cylinders... Thanks!

Try lighting other gas appliances, I often light the gas hob first to draw gas when the van has been standing a few weeks.

Yes, the solinoid is on the back of the fridge the gas line goes straight from the jet to it.

you can access the burner via the lower vent and one or two screws to remove the tin cover ensure its not full of debris then you can try to light it with a match while some one turns it on inside .If that doesnt work theres no gas either blocked jet or solenoid
youtube will show how to access the jet solenoid is two stage and should have 1.5 volts on both terminals

This plastic cup circled seems to be half full of water. Is that right? Assume the solenoid is the item just above?

I read that wrong I read it as can hear not can't.
So it won't be the solenoid it will probably be the electronics modual on the back on the fridge they do energy switching & the ignition. It could also be the control panel not sending the info to the modual.

solenoid is the gold coloured item on the gas pipe thats very different to mine and i dont know what voltage that one needs it maybe marked on the top of the coil (black cylinder part were the wire goes)

I really appreciate everyone's contributions, thank you!

By way of update, after a short while of still displaying the error icon, it's now working on electric! Will try switching it back to gas in the morning to see if that will work.

I assume you know that your ignition switch works off the 12v hab battery. Our model has its own small battery (tripple A I believe). We have only changed it once since we have had the van, approx four years now. Just a thought.

You never mentioned it wasn't working on electric! So all the advice given by members will be incorrect!

Have you cleaned out the gas jet?
It's a common problem on gas fridges

Unbelievably after the gas ran out a short time later the fridge started working after swapping bottles. Sorry everyone!
Normally the hobs stop working first when you are running out of gas and the fridge keepa going from the last vapours in the pipework.
