Dometic fridge not cooling

We have a 3+ yr old Carthago C Tourer with a Dometic fridge. It is cooling on gas to 5 degrees but on ehu it takes 6 hours to get down to 12, so lots of wasted food. Any ideas please?

The 230v element could have failed. You need to test it for continuity.
