Dometic fridge failure update

I asked last week about our Dometic fridge failure on ehu. Thank you for the replies. I passed on your suggestions to our mobile MH repairer (we know nothing!).. We had already paid him but he has ceased communication. So now we are left with a trip to France looming so we are wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere in Leicestershire or nearby to try and help us. We are new to this forum but have read great things. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it until you get back from your trip. The fridge will run better on gas.

Thanks Lenny. We were hoping to get it sorted because we usually use quite a few Camping Car Park aires with ehu to save the gas which seems harder and harder to get hold of

Hi last December just before going to Spain for 3 months our Dometic885 packed up completely control panel had it We were told by a couple of places that don’t make them now as fridge freezer is 12 years old need to buy a new fridge freezer.I got in touch with Jak from Fox County mobil caravan &Motorhome servicing he said the same but said he new of one of his old retired service engineer who had a garage full off spare parts and would contact him .He had one and Jak came and fitted it from me before we went on our travels.He only changed £160 for the full control panel and his time.His contact No is 07701019574 if you want to try him .

Have you checked the mains connection plug on the element? I had one that has gone intermittent due to arching. Cut it off and joined with a terminal block and it sorted it

Thanks GeoffnDee - we looked at the reviews as you suggested, found a company (DMS) only 20 miles away and we’re booked in there. Fingers crossed!
