Domestic fridge with oven above.

The cables do get quite warm and soft but within the temperature range of standard pvc insulation - just.
I was checking how hot my cables got with the grill on, forgot about it for 2 hours. Looked at the instructions after "do not use the grill for more than 25 minutes."
And I know why! That would burn the sausages lol

It’s like most Motorhome appliances and equipment the manufacturers have a get out for nearly everything
Look at your blinds and they say not to fully close in sun !
Our hob says to open the windows but then nothing heats up !
! WARNING: The use of the electric hotplate and gas hobs will generate heat. We recommend, to avoid excess build-up of heat around the cooker area, the window is left opened when cooking to allow for additional ventilation

Yep, cheapscape manufacturers cut corners and don't care about killing the inhabitants with C0.
My last van (Hymer) had a wall vent for the oven. My current van (Le Voyageur) has no oven vent at all.

I agree not much risk of CO but no vent is not good from a heat point of view.

Yep. But it's a Tech Tower so there was no danger of the oven being put to use . Now replaced with an exact fit microwave vented at the rear. By me.

Just remembered my roof vent goes straight into the steel panel on top of the oven.

Lenny, I assume you have a Dometic Tech Tower?? All of those I have had have been vented out the roof as you describe, the Morelo also has the same Tech Tower which is also vented. When we had the N&B Flair it had a Thetford Oven which was not vented, complete nightmare. I never worked properly in the 2.5 years I owned it. Thermocouples popping left right and center. They fitted a bank of fans at the rear of the oven in an attempt to move the hot air out, it would work for sometime then fail it was a complete disaster.

How can these large, experienced companies often get it so wrong?
I sometimes wonder if they get their designs done by the local primary school.
Then they have the cheek to charge ridiculous prices for their inferior products, like the new Dometic fridge that was being talked about on another thread. £2500 for a fridge..........cranky!

Richard.

That’s what we can’t fathom out as we all know that most Motorhome appliances and fittings are total crap but you get the same rubbish in all vans from 40k to 500k
I was gobsmacked to see a Morello with a cassette toilet ?

Yes most TecTowers are vented through the roof, some of the early ones weren't, I think Hobby used to fit the 7000 series without a roof vent our 1st Hymer with the 7000 series did have a roof vent. The heat build up around the oven is bad enough with a roof vent, hate to think what it's like without.

Oi, are you insulting primary school kids? They would work if they designed them.

Yes, but don't forget it's the butler that does the emptying.:LOL:

Richard.

It is a no cost option for those who don't like black holding tanks, but they are not standard
