Just looking
Hi all,

I hoping to draw upon all your collective wealth of knowledge for this one!

We're after a campervan/van conversion with the following:

  • 4 berth
  • front dinette with swivel front seats
  • rear lounge
  • drop-down double bed over rear lounge
  • Either pop-top roof or drop-down bed over front dinette.

So basically two dedicated seating areas and two separate beds with mattresses.

There's so many models out there (plus independent conversion specialists) that it's difficult to research everything.

The nearest I've found is the Adria Twin Sports 600 SX, but it not really a proper rear lounge - more a garage with part of the bed left as a bench.

Thanks all 😀

Ben

We have a Rapido Dreamer Living van that ticks your first four requirements and is probably the nearest you will find. We chose it because of the proper rear lounge ( which can convert into a double) Front dinette, drop down bed at the front. Separate shower, separate toilet, and a large wardrobe for Mrs C’s dresses. It’s also very well made.

Thanks so much.

I was looking at the Dreamer Living Van and was most intrigued with this model!

Could you answer some questions I have please on the Living Van?

- When using the washroom/WC, is it completely private/closed off from the rear lounge? In the videos I can see the wardrobe swings round but there's still a gap to the left. And is the toilet usable to sit on when using it in the standard small cubicle configuration?

- Do know the max weight for the drop-down bed? Is it suitable (space and weight) for 2 adults?

Thanks again :)

Not quite what your after (no dropdown bed) but Wildax Aurora leisure XL or Altair RL has most of your requirements.

Chausson X550 and X650 don't have a rear lounge but have a big Lounge dining area up from with a dropdown bed above.

We have a Mobilvetta Kea 80 that has two sitting areas with both having electric beds above.

The sticker on my Living Van says 180 kilos max weight for the drop down bed.
There is a half inch gap when the swing out wardrobe is closing off the rear lounge/bed and no gap on the bottom section of the shower door. I have seen, on another living van a curtain fitted when regularly using the rear lounge as a bedroom.
Yes you can use the toilet with the door shut.
The wardrobe/shower design is ingenious.
We think it’s a great van and bought it because it has a proper tear lounge. We did a 35 day trip to Sweden, Denmark and Northern Germany in March and the weather was bad on some days and the lounge came into its own.

Thanks. Those Wildax vans look like 3 berth. The Chausson X series looks great though. We're primarily looking for a campervan, but that's as campervan-like you can get in a coach-built motorhome. It's on the shortlist!

Endorse everything you say. Maximum use of space. Can't fault ours. The only thing I would add is that for 4 people storage would be tight. For two it's not an issue. Such an easy drive aided by a sublime 9 speed auto box.
