Just about to buy a full set of tyres and wonder how TopCashback works please?

I use it.

Go to the top cashback website and search for what you want. Follow the links to the retailer's site leaving the topcashback site open. Order what you want and pay as usual. You should get a pop up message saying your visit has been recorded. At some point the cash back will show in your account and you can have the money paid out (either into your bank account or as vouchers) about 90 days after that. I usually get vouchers when there is an offer for more voucher than cash.

I have it set up so that any retail site I visit has a pop up if there is a topcashback link. I can't remember how I did that though and it only works on my laptop.

One word of warning - if you use another offer at the same time (free gift or a discount code for example) the topcashback may not be paid. I was caught out with that when ordering flowers and got a "special free chocolates" offer.

We have used Quidco since it started but TopCashback is another well rated site - worth checking both for best offer from the retailer that you plan to buy from.

Been using topcashback cor several years..not for much other than insurance and utilities..but have had around £1500 back...best deal to date RAC £90 cashback £75... good enough but then they paid cashback a second time ::bigsmile:

We always use TCB too. Just make sure you're happy with your purchase price before any cashback, as cashback is not guaranteed.

Make sure to turn off your VPN if you use one as well. We or should I say Nick sometimes forgets when we get back to the UK!

I have used this successfully.
I was refused one payment, once, for car insurance (or breakdown cover, I can’t quite remember).
They cited I’d already viewed the product, and then went back to their app to order it.

I clear my cookies/history before using it now.

I don't use any of those for purchasing and only to discover pricing.
Then I'll use that pricing to negotiate discounts when buying locally from my area.
Same for ordinary purchases, insurance and what not.

If I don't get it, either, at the lowest price or with extra value added within the less cheap price, I'll buy off amazon or somewhere from reputed retailer wherever they may be. I've also bought from abroad and reclaimed (or not been charged) the VAT.
That saves much more than TCB.
Nearly forgot to say that all pricing discounts are quite the myth, playing on customers' perceptions. I saw the price inflation happen in tourism when hotels were firstly required to pay up to 30% commission to OTAs, online travel agents.
Often, their model includes the costings of the 30% and most big ones charge only 15%. Other fees onto hotel if they cancel or alter the booking. So, that means, if I buy from an OTA, I am paying their commission plus an extra percentage which goes to the hotel in some other way. (Think laterally).

Food for thought?

Yep silly not to...

Does not always track. Be wary of ad blockers. Be wary of clicking other links (ads) before buying etc as depending on who, it can be first click pays or last etc.

TCB is never guarenteed, so 12% cashback or 10% code - use the code and expect the cashback to fail - see the cashback as a bonus rather than decision.

I've had 10% off Ripe, 20% off ebay, 12% off ali express, 60% off other bits etc :)

Also note TCB will now show compatible codes as well which can stack.

My refer-a-friend link is https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/yourithelp - gives £10 to you, £30 to me - unfair I know I'd be happy other way round but it can't be changed.

Do To Cash Back and quidco work on purchases outside UK?

Reason I ask is that UL purchases for delivery in Poland now get stuck in customs needing cost of an agent to clear, even if there is no duty to pay. That happened with a new bank card - I refused and said send it back. Other stuff arrives in post with no problem.

Its down to which sites they are affiliated with, so site if site is ABC.com and they ship to poland I dont see why not, but it is a UK focused site and you buy from whatever site you go to - not TCB - so delivery will be down to the site/shop you use

Used it a lot and had a lot of payouts, same with Quidco as I always check the cashback rates first to see what they are offering as often one is better than the other, another is Nectar as they have 'partners' who you get cashback from.

My last pay out was for travel insurance via TCB, bought Virgin's policy and got £24 cashback, I used 'TCB compare' for our Smart car insurance which offered £45 cashback for taking out a policy which was cheap anyway! Best pay out was from Three for a sim which cost £120 for a year with £120 cashback ... in effect a free sim, however as they couldn't tell me if it tracked correctly I reluctantly cancelled it ... but they paid it anyway! :giggle: Also hubby got £35 c/b from TCB for taking out an HSBC credit card which was good, then HSBC also paid out £25 direct too, win-win!

If you buy stuff on Ebay you get at least 1% c/b, but this often is boosted to 2% or more.

I've used TCB and Quidco for phone sims and contracts too and that can reduce the overall cost quite a bit.

Oh, you can also buy various gift cards too with varying amounts of c/b, I don't use them normally but when there's good cashback and I'm going to be buying something soon anyway it's a good way to cut the cost especially when they also have a 'bonus' too, eg buy a gift card for minimum of £5 and get a £2 bonus on top of the usual cashback, sometimes it's even more.

If you joint TCB at the moment you can get £30 c/b as a 'newbie', details on the below:

Didn't know MSE did a referal for £30 - deffo worth doing for that rather than our own referal links above.
I've seen ebay with 20% cashback (stacked with codes too lol - spent a fortune on that deal)
I do check quidco but always use TCB and put in a "highest rate guarentee" claim on TCB against full quidco member cashback rate (which I don't have) and they have always matched it (even with a dubious one a few weeks ago!)

Quidco are doing a good 'friend referral' payment at the moment, if you join via my referral link you'll get a £20 joining reward once you've earned £5 cashback: https://www.quidco.com/raf/6017289/

Always worth comparing Quidco and TCB to see which is offering the best cashback, eg at present if you go to Scancom to buy a pre-loaded Three data sim you get 3.4% c/b with TCB but 12% with Quidco, having just used the latter I can confirm it tracks.
