I'm giving up on my teltonika/maxview router, its just too unreliable, keeps dropping out. I'm considering reverting back to my Huawei E5573 mifi but cant getvinto the settings. I used to type in 192.168.1.1 but chrome just gives me a list of people offeringblinks but that don't seem to lead anywhere. I realise its quite old now, Anyone else using one?

Is there not a reset button that defaults all settings to whatever is shown on the label?

You'll need to connect to the Huawei's SSID (that's the WiFi name you'll see in the menu of available connections)

Once you've done that, the 192.168.1.1 address should work (unless you changed it)

I'm surprised to hear the Teltonika is being unreliable though - they're normally really good.

What exactly do you mean by 'it keeps dropping out'?

It could just be something as simple as you antenna connection being loose or a poor signal for the particular type of SIM card in your area.

Was it working OK before?

You are probably typing it into search. You need to enter it in the address bar of chrome, type: http://192.168.1.1

You will also need to be attached to it as your wifi access point.

Ariel leads are as tight as I dare with a spanner, leads are factory yet keeps losing internet, fine one minute then stops, its happened with several different sims, put them in phone and they work reliably.

This help?

Is the address not 192.168.8.1?

It is on our three Huawei mi-fi units including a 5573.(y)

That's what the manual (attached) says, as well (pg13).:whistle2::whistle2::whistle2:

Sounds like something's gone awry with the unit then.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe the power supply to the Teltonika is spiking in a way that it doesn't like.

I've only ever known one person to have that issue, but a cheap 12v regulator fixed the issue for him.

That's the default local address for them (i.e. only works when you're connected directly to the device WiFi), however you can change it from the menu settings.

If that doesn't work then finding the reset button and pressing and holding it for a couple of seconds (with the unit powered on) should restore it.

I'm guessing op was trying to access via connection as using Chrome but????

I've been in IT long enough not to assume anything...

...except that I hadn't spotted that the IP you quoted as the default wasn't the same as the one jongood had originally quoted so you could have been completely correct!

A brief moment of number blindness on my part. Ah well, we all make mistakes :D

Have you had a chance to make any progress on this jongood?

I think between us we've covered the main things for you to try before resorting to colourful language and a large hammer....

192.168.8.1 is mine
No idea if I set it to that or thats default. But using the menu display on the think it tells you its IP address under device info

I think Gellyneck was correct that the default is 192.168.8.1 and not 192.168.1.1

192.168.1.1 is such a common gateway address that my brain just skipped over the 8 and read it as a 1 because it's a number I've seen a million times.

The Teltonika decided it was going to start working again so running that atm. Going to try to get into the mifi again later.

Thanks for your help.

No worries jongood - I've installed more of these than I care to remember over the years so more than happy to share my experience of them.
