The vehicles involved in the prosecution of Knaus Tabbert AG are vehicles in the weight class up to 3,500 kg. The company is being investigated for allegedly exceeding the maximum weight of these vehicles.

Explanation
  • The company is being investigated by the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office.
  • The investigation is related to allegations of fraud and potential competition law violations.

  • The company is cooperating with the public prosecutor's office.

  • The company has also initiated its own investigations with external expertise.

  • The company has terminated its cooperation with suppliers that may have been involved in the alleged criminal acts.

  • The company is taking legal action, including claims for damages and criminal proceedings.

It's a Bavarian company so has been in the news here, at present it seems that the directors who were arrested have now been released, the investigation is ongoing, which could takes months or years.
Knaus paused production because of overstocking at dealers, they are now working again but with 150 less staff if I recall.
Not much else to report .

I maybe should have given more context on why I'm asking. I am just about to buy one. my questions are
Which vans is this affecting?
If mine is included in this, how does this affect my ownership? Will I have a tiny payload , will it affect my resale etc

It's difficult to give answers without knowing more about which model/year you're looking to buy.

Go with it to a weighbridge before you hand over any (more) money or sign any paperwork, see what it weighs empty before you decide or reject as not as described?
