I'm in the sunny south and will cross the Pyrenees to head back after the 1 November seasonal winter tyre cutoff.
French law says I need 3PMS tyres; mine are only M & S.
I'm quite sure I'll be ok on the road with my existing tyres, but there is presumably a risk that Le Plod could stop me. Or possibly even El Plod - some Spanish roads also seem to require it. (O Plod, where I am, is untroubled by such matters.) If caught, the fine (in France) is € 135 and vehicle immobilisation. And presumably my insurer won't like it if I wore the 'wrong' tyres and there was an incident.
What have others done? Do you think I should change my tyres before I cross the mountains?
