I think you are overcomplicating things. If you don’t need the short arm ones then you need the long arm ones! Stop measuring, the measurements were only ever meant to narrow it down a bit. He doesn’t seem to do medium anymore.

I think it's been overcomplicated for me.....with good intentions, of course. First, the mention of 'medium' ones and then the measurements that don't fit with mine. I'm going to contact the man again and, hopefully, meet up with him at Lincoln Showground. Thanks for your help

HKF, as your ‘van is longer than ours (7.23m as opposed to 7.02m), and we have long-arm mirrors, I would be very surprised if yours were short-arm…..

it is nowt to do with the van’s length, it is the width! obviously a panel van needs short sticky out mirrors and a coachbuild a bit wider sticky out mirrors to see past the protruding coach build

You may have to buy some that are as near the length you can get.
so long as they are not shorter than present ones and the arm to door fittings are the same.

Wow - that is cheaper than buying MirrorGuards! I am pretty sure the mirrors on my PVC are short but useful to get support for that conclusion - thank you ;-)

Not sure but they look medium to me. Our van had long (and frankly ridiculous) but being a narrow Exsis I changed to short, best mod ever, but wouldn't suit all vans as some need long arms.

Hmm, just measured the gap on my passenger side mirror and it's about 6cm on the top arm.

Is there a minimum width of vehicle that means you have to go from short to medium/long arms.

A Adria Compact has a width of 2.12m and has short arms
Whereas a Dethleffs Globebus T1 has a width of 2.2m and has what looks like medium/long arms.

My question is at what width do converters change from short to medium/long arms and would it be legal to change from medium/long to short arms?

Does anyone know if the arms below are long or medium?

One of my suppliers does a mirror cover (different product to mirror guard and out of stock at the moment anyway - it's much cheaper and more a cosmetic cover) which comes in 2 versions, one for short arm and one for both medium and long arm - though, confusingly, it's only labelled for long arm.

I suspect that mirror guard is the same, but they would need to confirm to be sure.
