Before leaving the van today around about 11.30am our battery was around the 50%, arrived back around 3ish and would have expected it to be in 70s at least but found it only to be 54%. It was slightly cloudy this morning but clear blue skies for at least a couple of hours, I have washed the panel as noticed it was full of dust from our drive here.

We’re in northern Spain just Incase anyone is wondering, it has been reading in the high 20s to high 30s on the solar so the 12 was just as I took a screenshot

Victron did an update yesterday so I’m wondering if it changed something or is it me just being overly optimistic.

depends on a few things,
How high is the sun
How much solar do you have
What amps are tha betteries

But looking at your yield today it says higher than the other days, that says you should have yielded about 22 AH total (270 wh / 12v).

How many amps did you add to your batteries on th 180wh day? before the update

I have 180w solar the battery is 120ah, the other days are hard to compare as we drove over 200 miles so battery was full via the engine. I think you hit it on the head with how high is the sun, the sun has been low so probably not hitting panel full blast.
I just thought it would’ve been higher, we have more than enough to last us tonight and we’re moving on tomorrow so hopefully fully charged.

Victron update shouldn't make a difference, but to be sure check the battery settings.

What size panel do you have, and what type/size battery?

270wh yield is around 21amps into the battery, but the charger has stayed in bulk, so hasn't at that point got the battery up to the absorption setting, which is I guess set to 14.3v (ish), with a max voltage achieved of 13.44.

So I guess you have been using more of the batteries capacity or have had EHU or more driving on previous days given that it has hit float before on lower yields.

Folk will be able to give a better response knowing a little more detail....

Would need to see the "Trend" for Battery Amps for today, it looks like 2/3 of the 270Wh were collected outside of the timeframe you were away.

That's if you still have a 125Ah Lithium.

Yes still have the 125ah, think I said 120 above 😂

Only one real solution, Gerry.🤷‍♂️
If you get your skates on you might just make it on time!(y)

ps there was a banner on the Garroch as we passed D&GRI on Monday saying "Free the Dumfries One hostage"!:giggler:

The trend page will show you when the battery was full yesterday and when it started being used again. If it was 50% at 11:30 today you used about 62Ah plus some solar between full and 11:30. I'm assuming you have a compressor fridge. Have you had the fridge open a lot? We expect to use about 50Ah a day in the uk.

Looked a bit closer, your max input today is 76Wh, about 5.6Ah. If it had been at that max for the 3.5 hours (which it wont have been) the battery would have received less than 20Ah, about 16% on the battery. Then you have to take off what has been used. So I think 70% was optimistic.

Not to worried about the fact it’s down at 50 as we know what we’ve used, I think my expectations were just higher as I’m used to being away earlier in the year.
