As the title. I have seen a 6kg gas it for sale locally at a reasonable price. Do they have a re test or calibration date ???
Currently have safefill that are meant to be tested at 10 years.

It's my understanding that GasIT bottles have a ten year life and then no more use, there is no path for testing etc. I have 2 in my van.

Not quite sure but I thought the ten year rule only applied to those bottles in commercial use, whatever that means.

Mines coming up for 10 years old in a year or two. It's sat in a locker and looks in pristine condition. If it was an underslung sitting in mud and wet I could understand a 10 year life but I'm not sure I'm going to change it when the 10 years are up

Alll refillable bottles have to be inspected, tested and new valves fitted at 10 years old. It illegal to fill them if out of date.
My 14kg bottles are 10 years old this year I will be popping over to the Alugas factory €180 for a refirb or €200 exchange for new bottle.

Basildog will clarifie it.

It is not a law therefore it cannot be illegal, it is the industries mouthpiece who issue the Code Of Practice for above ground gas tank installations. My underslung tank is 12 years old and is in excellent condition and my whole installation was gas leak tested last week. My LPG tank in the garden is 25 years old and has only been checked over when deliveries of gas are made with a certificate wrote out every 10 years.
No doubt that I will be shot down by a certain trader, I wonder if they have actually bought the Code of Practice which is in 4 parts at £90 for each one.

So nice to know we have someone very knowledgeable on the forum

They have a date stamp on them .

The ones in my mh were fitted brand new in November 2021 . But show a 2029 date on them

But with no one to check them etc I struggle to think who would know bar the user themselves.
