Another in the series of disused railway lines.
This is a branch line of the vennbahn that runs to Trois Ponts and we started it from Malmedy where there is an aire for 7 euros and 50 cents for 100 litres of water and 50 cents for an unknown amount of electricity.
The path is next door and parking for 25+ and CCTV in area. Bus station next door.
You can (we will over next couple of days) cycle the other direction to Germany.
It was about 15 Kms to Trois Ponts with just a couple of bridges to go over and 2 tunnels one of which was quite a long one. There was a very small gradient all the time and rarely flat but tiny tiny gradient. No need to come out of eco setting. Cuttings and embankments. Because we are here in March snow was visible on hills over the valley and it was a balmy 3 degrees and humidity between moist and soaking through clothes now which saw us bail out on the 2nd part today.
Completely tarmacked with only an odd root but not worth worrying about. No leaves on trees gave us valley views all over.
Very pleasant
Will stick link in to the other disused railway lines.
