I am proposing to change the starter battery on my Ducato. In itself not a problem. However my van is fitted with a solar panel which at this time of year is working flat out. Again not a problem. However I also have a Victron regulator fitted that checks the state of the leisure battery and the starter battery and if the latter is less than the leisure, it takes charge from the leisure to charge the starter battery, therebye accepting current from the solar panel.
My query is whether when I disconnect the starter battery will I meet problems with the Victron unit trying to charge a battery that’s not there.!!! Is there anything I should do or can I just disconnect the old one and reconnect the new one.
