Hi
We are heading for Provence in June from Dieppe. Any pointers or places to visit (except Paris).
Looking for ideas, aires, sites and places of interest.
Many thanks

What do you like to do en route ? Cycling, Swimming, history ?
Aires or campsites ?
How many miles a day ?
Any preference for your route ? Peripherique Nevers Clermont and across ? or taking the Lyon road down ?

Watching with interest.

Next week we’ll be heading down from Dieppe in the Nevers/Lyon direction to cross over into Italy on the Briançon to Turin route.

Will probably be taking a motorscooter to travel around if necessary. Don't really want to go near Paris. Happy to do 200 to 300 miles per day. Happy with Aires while travelling but would like a site if stopping for a few days. Will try and avoid tolls if possible but will accept if travelling any distance.

Avoiding Paris probably means Rouen Evreux Dreux Chartres Orleans which just about brings you to Sully sur la loire, which is a big free aire and overflow with free water and La Loire at your beckon call and probably 2 or 3 british vans there.
My route down would then probably go Nevers, moulins and then if in no hurry I would go cross country towards Roanne St Etienne and look around the Northern Ardeche at several different places (St Agreve Lamastre Le Cheylard area) for days out on the motorbike including the gorges du doux and dropping down into Tournon sur Rhone and maybe a look at the steam train there up the valley.
Then I would search for this Broken Link Removed if I was taking a motorbike and give consideration to some of those roads for days out
Then I would do some searches on here for "clue" written by me and have a look at those and see if they float your boat, so to say as some are on those balcony roads.

Once into Provence just pick a place and stay near it, I think we have been 4 or 5 times and not done it all, but it will still be there next year.
