Hi, I've just tried to buy a DGT emissions sticker, for my UK registered Euro VI motorhome, in the main post office in Pamplona. The lady serving me couldn't enter my UK registration number into the system. She asked the manager for assistance and he told me that DGT stickers are only for Spanish registered vehicles, not foreign registered ones.

Just wondered what other people's experiences have been?

From what I understand, and this is 12 months ago, only Spanish registered vehicles require them.

Does anyone know if French CRIT-AIR stickers are accepted in Germany, Switzerland or Italy. One would hope that a sticker is universally accepted throughout the EU.

Talking of joined up thinking, the French adopted a reduced national speed limit of 80kph to reduce accidents. After discovering some time later that this had no affect on accident figures all the different departments were given the choice to return to 90kph or stick with 80kph. Some changed, some didn't, so for a countrywide traveler it's very difficult to know which limit applies and where. Crazy. Only the French could organise such chaos.

A lot of hire cars don’t even have them.
& yet most new private vehicles are given them on registration? Back in May the ITV station I use was giving them away free with an ITV .Pity I had already bought one:rolleyes:

By all accounts In Barcelona some foreigners have actually managed to have there foreign vehicles registered on the system. I'm sure someone on here posted that they registered theirs?

Low Emission stickers in Spain are NOT compulsory. They are only compulsory if you want to enter the town centres that have implemented the system. Which is virtually none so far (Barcelona and Madrid) Its not required for commuting through on main roads such as motorways. Generally just city centres where you wouldn't want to drive your MH anyway.

Foreign vehicles currently can register in Barcelona only i believe. There is no requirement elsewhere, although it will probably happen in the future. In Barcelona you have to apply for a daily permit as a foreign vehicle, which is so much faffing about that you'd need to be pretty serious about going there to be worth the bother IMO.
