Hi all you motor home experienced people. Could I ask some questions?

Are Dethleffs good motor homes? Especially the 7057 ?

Are they winterised?

I’m looking around 50k - 60k.

Do you think a twin bed is better than an island bed. Is it best to have an inverter?

They seem to have what I’m looking for - I like the Hymer but a bit above my pay grade !!

What others match these please ?

Thanks for all your advice!!

Best John

We had our (MY 2006) 7870 for 14 years and, yes, it was fully winterised. It was an excellent van.

We have had a 7057 I EB Trend since August following 3 previous vans over 16 years. A personal injury forced me into buying A class but I wasnt overlooking, just keeping an eye on things but then this one came up and I "stole" it.
Really quietly impressed with everything so far (in terms of value for money)
60K bought our 2 year old van (so you can see I stole it)
The twin bed, to us, is the better option as you can ,make it into a triple and sleep the other way if slope requires it. Plus you get more garage room (I think)
We have upgraded ours with about 7ks worth of what we require, alarm, tracker, semi air, uprating, 350 solar, 280 ah lithium, 3000 watt inverter, polar screens, spare tyre and holder, LPG, fridge fans, tv aerial. We hope this means we continue to spend nothing when on holiday (abroad)
The Dethleffs FB page is worth joining as well for more detailed answers, but by all means ask away

We have a 2021 Trend 7057 DBM which we love. The Trend's are not fully winterised, the waste tank is external, it has a single floor but has internal freshwater tank. We have added reversing camera, air con, alarm/immobiliser from VanBitz, inverter/lithium/solar from Offgrid Power Solutions, wifi, bbq point, external shower, spare tyre, semi-air and hydraulic levellers. Ours was a bargain end of season new model from Goodmans. Some small niggles but all dealt with via warranty at Reliance.

We have the double not the twin, we thought that the twin - with the infill - left no room in the bedroom, whereas the double has some space around the sides. That said the space is quite narrow and with the twin you get the same space x2 in the middle so makes moving around a bit easier, but no snuggling obvs :giggle:

Yes good vans, we had a twin bed a class for 5 years with no issues unlike the new carthago.

Fully winterised we went to German markets in it and been in alps and pyrenees.
