Dethleffs Advantage
I’ve just purchased our first MH, it’s a Dethleffs Advantage 7051, it has a solar panel on the roof but I have no idea where the panel/control box is to show me the that it’s working ok. Could anyone point me as to where I may find it please. Mark

:welco:
It will just be a controller it won't have a display panel just 2 or 3 LED's.
It could be mounted anywhere it should be close to the battery but lazy installers often don't do that. You may have to follow the cables from the roof to find it.

Thanks….. I’ll hunt about more

Look under the UK side passenger seat or wherever your ebl is.

If you can climb a ladder, check where the cable goes into the roof. Then go inside and check that locker/cupboard etc.
We find many "factory" installers put the controller in the locker (overhead), sometimes behind some sort of panel (some controllers are tiny and fit behind panels).
These days new-ish vans often have basic solar controllers in the EBL - so you may need to check there. Maybe you need to find where the cable comes inside and follow it down (easier said than done).
But either way, the chances are you have a basic controller that can't actually tell you how the sun/panel is doing (only that its working).

Yep, think that’s the case…. There’s a curved panel with four screws in a locker behind the passenger seat…. I reckon it’s there…. I’ll whip the screws out and take a look…. I’d be happy just to see an led or two to know it’s actually working

Was it factory fitted or by a dealer or installer?

Unsure, I’ve just bought it second hand, 2019 model, came from Lowdams originally.

The main dials should show whether the panel is sending harvested power to any of the batteries. It may also have a bluetooth dongle sending out information that'll you'll need an app to view.

Lowdams fitted my solar controller a long way from the battery. (in a previous van)
In an overhead locker. They also used a cheap PWM controller.
