We bought a used Pilote P740FC from Davan in Weston super Mare in April 2024 - okay, not the most obvious location from our home in Cumbria, but a good excuse to visit family in Bristol!
When we bought it we knew that the manufacturer warranty was effectively extinct - a previous owner had not met the requirements to maintain it. But we were assured that the dealer warranty would cover us for almost as long as the Pilote warranty would have otherwise done.
We took it back to Davan for a hab check last week while it was still covered by their warranty.
We had noticed a squeaky floor by the kitchen and were alarmed to find a) it was delamination and b) the dealer warranty only specified covering delamination due to water ingress, which wasn’t the case here.
But the MH sales director at Davan went out of his way to reassure us that he thought Pilote would agree to cover repairs despite strictly being out of warranty, because it was a known issue. And if they refused, then Davan would cover it under their warranty. Having had experience of companies using technical exclusion clauses to avoid liability, this was a reassuring and positive approach.
A few days later, phone call from Davan while we were returning home to confirm that Pilote will indeed cover the repair. Excellent customer service and good communications.
I’ve posted this as a review for Davan, but thought it might be helpful for other Pilote owners having similar problems from other dealers to post it here too.
