We've been away for 5 weeks and the fridge needs defrosting, any suggestions?

Turn it off, open the door and put a container to catch the water or a cloth to soak it up.
That's all I do, except put a wedge to keep the top freezer compartment open and put a thick towel in the bottom to soak up the water to save it from soaking onto the floor! 👍

What's the hurry, just open the door, wedge freezer door and deploy the towel.
Think of the planet! 😄
I need to get the fridge back working ASAP to keep the food cool, I'm wishing I'd brought my hair dryer

Put in a saucepan of boiling water to speed up the process

Buy a couple of freezer bags and a couple of freezer "bricks". Freeze the bricks, decant the food to the bags, add the bricks, put the bags in the coolest place in the MoHO (or even under it) defrost the fridge (as per above methods) - Job done

I finally did it today, all good but hoping it gets cold before the ice packs in the cool bag melt 😀
