So with a pet sitter requirement (grumpy parrot that can't come with us), we're not overnighting yet especially as we get used to the MH (23 days MH experience now.....)
Therefore do any, many or none of the campsites offer day stops with no overnighting? It would enable us to get some practice in such as EHU, water, emptying black waste, getting the electrics and hot water without the ignomy of being parked on our drive!

Not without going to France. The Camping-car Parks network offer short stays of a few hours. Or of course use any other aire which doesn't have a barrier.

Other countries are available offering the same service - just not the UK. :)

As long as you don't expect it for free as potentially you will be using the campsite services. I am sure if you explain what you want to achieve most sites would help out.

Definitely not looking for a freebie and happy to pay

I should think if you could do it during the week rather than weekends and if you spoke with a site they'd let you do it. I'd go for an independent site rather than one of the clubs as they'd probably just say computer says no.

Otherwise book for a night but ask first if you'd be able to check in from say 10am then you could leave anytime in the evening.

Enjoy the testing.

The thng is whilst you are getting used to the van it will probwbly be costing you a fortune to test it out and what most people would do on the drive st home, EHU, water, heating etc.

You will be every campsites best friend, paying then not stopping overnight.

Call and ask them, explaining what you want and maybe why.

My site is too far for you (M4 J18) see if you can find a local campsite or CL etc.
Agree with Quackers on that find a local Cl site near to you so you can "practice"
Couple of questions for you.
Have you asked the parrot why he/she will not come with you.
How much practice do you really need - you will still get thinks a little wrong when out in the real world. I've plugged gas bby into external shower point and thought I was covered in LPG.
Best of luck.
Ps write out a check list of thinks to do on arrival and departure if worried and work through that a few times.
