Having difficulty setting up a satellite dish at our seasonal pitch caravan I was advised to invest in the above.

It has now arrived but, although there are many pre-loaded satellites, there is no Astra 2E for Freeview.

Does anyone own one of these finders and can help me…..

How do you add an extra satellite eg Astra 2E?

I have tried to enter the details but A2E’ co-ordinates are given as 28.51E. It only appears to be possible to enter one decimal place on the unit.

I appreciate that I may have seriously misunderstood the limited user manual so would be grateful for any help available.

Freeview is not on Astra 2 you need an aerial for that.
Freesat is on Astra 2 https://en.satexpat.com/tv/uk/freesat/.

Scroll down for frequencies.

Thank you for that I “mis-spoke” as American politicians like to say.

My real problem is how to enter the info into the satellite finder.

Thank you elamessa .

I had the first manual but the second one is clearer. I will try it out when I return to the caravan site.

I am beginning to think that anything more technical than a ball point pen causes confusion in my brain!😎

28.2 setting will be fine for all the birds at that position, set it to that and you should be fine. I don't know that meter but most modern stuff will give you signal quality and maybe BER. The issue may you have is identifying which bird you are on so the meters generally look for a unique transponder or 3 to be sure you are looking at 28 and not 19 or 23 which are close by.

I always used the signal finder on the TV or box with the high pitched tone. Never took more than 5 minutes to set up.
