Any suggestions for a reasonably priced dashcam that will fit behind the REMIS blinds when closed? Not sure if it makes much difference but this in a Ford transit cab.

We have a dashcam in the car already, cheap no named make from Amazon, works ok but the app to review footage is a bit temperamental and very slow to connect via its own WiFi.

I like the look of the cheaper Nextbase models, anyone use one?

Yes, I have a Nextbase 322GW that fitted behind the blind. It is a bit fiddly to find exactly the right position though

Great thanks, did you fit it high up by the rear view mirror? There looks to be more space (i.e. more depth) near the bottom of the windscreen but I reckon this position won’t be as good to capture the best view.

Do you like the dashcam?

Lenny HB has one that doesn't have a screen which should fit easily.
Great thanks, yeah I’m happy not to have a screen… they look to small to be of much use and potentially a distraction too.

Same here, good camera. I use the sucker windscreen fitting, take off the camera and USB munt before closing the blind. Only takes a few seconds, leave the USB mount loose over the windscreen mirror fitting.

We have a nexbase one, the camera fitting on the windscreen allows the cam to be removed trivially (just unclips) when we need to close the blinds. (The fitting to the glass fits behind the Remis) We usually use a outside screen cover especially in winter, so don't use the Remis much, but when we do, we just unclip the camera and close blinds, takes less time than closing the blinds.

I have fitted a Nextbase 422GW where the rear view mirror would be (we don't have one). Used the stick on mount. Blinds close ok with it in place. Can post pictures if you need.

I have a nextbase mounted on the dash on the passenger side there is an oval flat bit and I cut a 3M base pad to fit into this flat spot and use the camera sucker on. Use the settings on camera to ensure video correct way up. That way no reaching across to try and disconnect which I found very tricky even with my long arms.

If you have the blank plate for a rear view mirror.
The cover comes off it and you can get a mount that fits on the bit left on the windscreen.

That’s what I did on the Daughters Ducato 👍

Nextbase camera installation with Remis blinds using the redundant mirror fitting:

Nextbase mounted at the bottom of the screen. When the camera is removed from the permanently mounted stick on mount there is space to close the blinds. They wouldn't close if mounted at the top.
