When I try to start the engine I get a light with a key and word code flashing. The engine turns over but won't start

Your immobiliser is active.

Try getting out vehicle, locking it, leaving it for a minute, unlocking, then take your time and try staring it.
If still no, try other key.

Back in 2022 Eddie posted this in response to a similar query - "If anyone gets this, if they email me a copy of there V5 I’ll post a crib sheet explaining how to by pass the Fiat immobiliser. eddie@vanbitz.com"

In believe you will find that eddie is now retired and can no longer help with this immobiliser problem.
But if you put immobiliser problem in search (top right corner) you may find an answer

Is your battery low by any chance. Many years ago I believe CamperUK told me this when I asked why my key was illuminated after they had serviced it. Mine did start however.

Oh, and you've used your 5 free messages Platt54 - if you'd like to carry on the conversation then you'll need to become a subscriber.

Sounds like a few people have experience of similar issues and may well be able to help you fix it.

Eddie retired and enjoying himself

I have more info but only for MH Fun members. Don't like to spread the info around to absolutely everyone, even though it takes at least 30 minutes to an hour to bypass the old crusty immobiliser even if you know what to do.

Having been a moderator on a similarly sized motoring forum, this does not surprise me at all!

Doing IP searches was a revelation with some people running multiple 'personas' concurrently. Some even switching between accounts on the same thread...

People are odd. :D
