Clipboard in centre of our cab dash does not move, is there a knack or secret lever/button to make it sit upright??

Yep...an awkward one on the left hand side if its a ducato style one. After a good pull up

The newer version don't lift like the old ones used to

Ours pulls up by putting your hand near the windscreen and pulling it from there.
2018 Fiat, give it a sharp tug then there is a lever on the left that allows sat nav to be clamped tight

I only found how to do it by accident lol

On my 2016 boxer there is a button on the dash just behind the clipboard clip, push that and lift up the clipboard towards you.

This is 2015 boxer?? Is the button between screen and clip black covered? . Haven't collected yet so can't nip out and try it.

on our '16 Fiat the "black button" is a cover over a little electric socket, like for an option we haven't got.
Giving the clipboard a good tug still opens it though..

Ours lifts up, 2022 ducato cab. but it's worthless in my opinion unless you are a delivery driver..

Whilst we're on this subject:
I have been using the clipboard to hold a 10" tablet used for sat nav etc, even though the top of the clip obstructs vision somewhat.

However, a couple of days ago, I realised that it wouldn't be hard to make a plywood adapter that is held in the clipboard clamp whilst folded down, and which could then position the tablet nearer, further to the right, and more vertically than the OE solution, whilst removing most of the visual obstruction and giving better (or even automatic) cable connection.
To my mind, that's 5 wins that justify a level of DIY-ness, even when painted grey.

Its nearly 200.00 for a tablet holder but I believe if you have a passenger airbag they will not fit, could try scrapyards if you think one would fit

Its American but basically must be similar

Does anybody know how the early versions with passenger airbag that don't move are actually fixed. Is it glued or screwed or some other witchcraft?

That's youtube is identical to our 2016 OE build, and illustrates the height obstruction well. Not dangerous, but not ideal.
I find having the tablet offset toward the driver useful, and occasionally get glare due to the inclination. I connect my tablet with a magnetic power connector which works a treat, but could be better if fixed in the correct position to get auto connection.

Ours on a 2007 Hymer A class on Fiat Ducato doesn't lift, or at least I can't get it to lift. We've a passenger airbag so maybe that's why?

It's perfect for my ipad which i use for satnav. Nothing useless about it.

Older ones don't lift if a passenger airbag is fitted.
We ran into this no our 2016 Autosleeper, didn't move and checking with AS it was due to passenger airbag. That was Peugeot chassis.

The one on our 2021 Burstner works fine on the Fiat chassis, like Steelaway, I also mount my SatNav on there. Very handy versus window suction.

We had a 2014 Hymer on a Fiat that one came up OK & that had a passenger airbag, I thought they all came up from around 2012 obviously Peugeot are different.

Ours is 2012 euro V with passenger air bag and it’s fixed.
But it’s early 2012 so may have come in with a late 2011chassis.

I know this is an old thread, but having googled how to open the tablet holder in our new van of course MHF was the top link, I clicked and read the solution, trotted out to the van and relayed it to Mark, he tried and "hey presto". Will probably never use it but another mystery crossed off.
They do say that every day's a school day - thank you to those who posted on the thread.
