Hi all, just wondering if anyone can let me have any info on damp report and the new swift construction. I've noticed on the first damp report on our 2021 Swift Kon tiki the only place the damp readings were taken was the floor. However the damp report that was conducted prior to us buying the van in july only records the side wall and roof readings no floor readings. I was under the impresion that the only damp readings on the Swift latest construction that are taken is the floor. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

As far as I am aware a damp report should cover all surfaces in contact with the outside, ie floor. Ceiling , the sides and rear from floor to ceiling.

Depends… most of the new vans have plastic walls and ceilings so you can’t get a read.
We have just purchased a 2021 Bailey Adamo and current and previous Damp test stated no readings "due to construction".
I guess that's why.

My 2022 Kontiki only covered the front floor under the seats, 250quid hab check, money for nothing
Hab check, or just water ingress?
Hab check should include all manner of other checks as well. Water ingress, [ the only one we have], is literally just that, checking with their meter.

That was 250 for the hab check but I didn’t get much in the way of documentation, with my other dealer and Autotrail I got a report with a check list and the damp report was very comprehendive

Hymer, Carthago, N&B, Concorde, Morelo & others have aluminium inside walls & GRP floors, so only a visual inspection.
