I bought my motorhome (2015 Swift Lifestyle) almost a year ago and it had a recent hab check with no problems, the check sheet was in the paperwork.

Just had my hab check done for this year and it has come back as showing damp in 5 different locations šŸ˜± The report shows mixed readings e.g. by rear door readings between 42-53%. Under one of the windows 12-56%. By rear window 17-33%

There are no signs of any mould, nothing feels damp to the touch, no black spots, no water stains. One area is by the over cabin bed window, and no signs/smells of damp on the mattress. The day before the man collected my van to take it away for checks/MOT etc, I had been in Wales for 4 nights. It was very very wet. I have two Golden Retriever's who are obviously very hairy. On the day of our return we all got soaked to the skin and had to drive all the way back from Wales (a journey of around 4 hours). I cleaned the van knowing it was being collected the next day, but as we got home in the evening, when it was collected at 7am the next day, it was definitely a bit 'wet dog' inside. Could this contribute to the damp readings.

I feel quite disheartened at the prospect of expensive repairs. I have already had to replace all four tyres and the cambelt due to age. I am also not sure if this is an actual damp problem, if it would be covered by warranty.

Cheer up! Reading's aren't that bad. Could well have been due to all the wet you "enjoyed" but do have a good look around at any likely weak points in seal's.
If in any doubt treat yourself to a good, preferably non contact, damp meter and keep an eye on things

My last damp check showed around 20% from behind the rear wheel arch under the bed, the underside of the mattress 30%. It had been a long wet spell anyway and the lack of circulation didn't help. After being aired and the bed left up for a few days it all dried out. Hopefully yours will be the same.

Thank you for your reply.

One of the windows was letting wet it following some moss falling down and trapping in the seal. It didn't appear to go beyond a small well sitting on the rubber spongy bit inside, and resolved when I spotted the problem. I checked the other windows after this discovery.

I will invest in a non contact damp meter, thanks for the suggestion. Something handy to have in your toolbox by the sounds of things.

Thanks for your reply, glad yours dried up, fingers crossed mine does the same. For the most part, mine are mostly registering all on the passenger side and none of the driver side. Some are just small spots in the corner... Just need some nice warm dry weather now!
