Burstner T-Star
Hello

The dinette window of our Burstner T-star it’s damaged - cracked corner on one side & missing corner on the other side.

It has been like that from when we bought it.

Can this be repaired ? Or it’s a case of having to buy a complete replacement?

Im pretty sure this aren’t cheap 🥲, as per any other Motorhome component/parts!

We found a place local to us (Halifax) that do replacement windows but unfortunately they cannot match the existing colour & style so it’ll look quite different from all the others.

Any recommendations it’s greatly appreciated 😊

Another vote for Caravan Crazy I replaced the windows on a twenty year old caravan which had delaminated. He has an extensive stock, not cheap but no one sat on that sort of stock is going to be.

I used these https://eeco-ltd.co.uk/ to replace two broken windows on my Burstner T680, they did a good job, but they're both on the same side of the van as luckily I could swap the same size rear window with one of the side ones as it had faded a bit.
Cheers any change you could upload some photos of the windows they made you so I can compare with the existing ones I have to see how much difference there is ?

I believe they require your old window as a pattern and they make one exactly the same, turn around is about two weeks. Not cheap though as you might expect.

Took a couple of pics, but not sure if they're helpful or not as one side was in more shade than the other ?

First pic is the original side window that I relocated to the rear and the second pic is the Eecco replacement that had broken and went on the same side as another, smaller Eecco one that was changed at the same time as it used to fill with water, a known fault on some of the Dutch Polyplastic windows that separated at the glued joint.

I have just replaced a window that had some damage. I had to buy a new one and as ours is 17 years old it was ordered from Dometic in Germany. Total cost with the glazing was £400.
We tried all the re-sellers but no-one could match ours, it was quite a revelation to find out how many different variations there are!

A word of warning if you are considering undertaking the replacement yourself.
Mine was damaged when I was removing and resealing all of the windows because a momemtary miscalculation meant I lost my grip just when I was removing that one. I pulled the bottom edge off first. All the others were fine as I levered off the top-edge first.

Oh and of course make sure you use non-setting sealant.

Apart from feeling a little nervous after that the rest of the job went well and I'm pleased they are all now sound and secure.
