Has anyone had their fridges checked for dairy and meat products

I plan to fill mine as usual for my crossing on Tuesday. Milk, cheese, eggs, pies, ice-cream, etc 🤷. I appreciate it's all available in France but shopping in the first few days is not my idea of a holiday

I thought this was going to be thread about giving up dairy products :giggle: I don't have to worry about it anymore. I have given up milk and cheese just need to wean myself of yoghurts then I am free.

We take what we have in there and have never had it checked, but tbh I wouldn't be bleating if rumbled 😉

WHAT!!!

You mean i didnt have to fill my tyres full of milk and put my dairylea in the waste water tank

So relieved its not a vegan thread.

We have been across a few time just throw every thing in from the fridge at home, never been checked.

Now i know where your secret stash is..
Ps the milk will more than likely turn to chease . You will then have run flats that you can eat .

More to the point have people been stopped coming back re alcohol
ie
  • beer - 42 litres
  • wine (still) - 18 litres
You can also bring in either:

  • spirits and other liquors over 22% alcohol - 4 litres
  • sparkling wine, fortified wine (for example port, sherry) and other alcoholic drinks up to 22% alcohol (not including beer or still wine) - 9 litres
Asking for a friend

The only thing we would possibly, ok probably, be over the limit for would be wine . An allowance of 24 bottles each isn't much, however 8L of spirits would last us ages.
The only beer we would normally bring back would be leftovers, the price difference doesn't justify the weight of bringing a full allowance. Perhaps we could get a load of beer labels printed to stick on the wine bottles.
