Hi all, we have changed cycle rack from the one fixed to the mh back panel to a towbar rack.

Do we still need a warning triangle on the cover and are there specific covers for Towbar racks?

Yes and Yes ..

the cover for a towbar rack doesn't have the slits down the back that a door mounted rack has.

I bought the Hindermann to fit two e-bikes.. great quality and no too expensive..

It has a pocket for the chevron board , straps for tightening the cover and a shock cord all around the bottom to pull it all in neat and tidy .. no other bungees or straps required...

Just bought one from Bags4Everything, good quality comes with the warning square that fits into the clear pocket which you must have for Europe. Fast delivery and really helpful customer services. Including delivery it was £91.00 fits well.

You need the warning square in Italy and a slightly different one for Spain, I think. You can get reversible ones, so sort of two for the price of one.

Do you fold the handle bars flat or leave them in the normal position? I'm finding that putting the chevron board on tricky with the handlebars poking out towards the back.

Mine are quite wide, so fold flat.. and only takes a few minutes and no risk of hitting the rear windows .. read somewhere that someone had a hole punched into the van rear wall with a handle bar ..!

I don’t think the warning square is required in France?
It's years since I had a bike rack on the back, but I believe the signs are slightly different for Italy and Spain. That's why the board slides into a pocket, so you can turn it round to make the correct pattern is visible. I don't know if the sign is still required in France or not.

Used to to do that with our pedal bikes but on my electric the handle bar shaft is different and its not easy to get to the stem screw without a lot of faff. I'll have to come up with a solution.
