Just getting back into it. In an Autotrail Arapaho 8.7 met. Looking to get best satnav so I don’t end up in a ditch, any help appreciated

They all seem to be much of a muchness. There is a good TomTom for sale on here that's well worth £50.

Welcome.
It all depends on what your criteria are. One man's "best" could be another's "worst".
7" screen may be the answer. :)

Nozatec/Xgody 7" Sat Nav, with the latest Truck mapping and iGo software. (y)

Been using one for about 4 x years now, and it totally out performs the TomTom I used to use, with Western Europe Truck Maps.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Can you down load POI's to these. I have collection that I could not be without, including Camper Contact, public toilets and MacDonald Europe

Yes, you can download all sorts of POIs Alex, but you may have to use a POI converter, to change the format of the files to .kml, before placing them into the correct POI folder in each country. There is a dedicated Facebook Group for the Nozatec Sat Navs, where all the operating and updating instructions and files can be accessed.
If you are quite handy with IT, it's a doddle, but only after accessing the correct info and files. (y)

HTH,

Jock. :)

:hiya2: and :welco: @Glassman. (y)

Check out the 7" Xgody with the capacitive screen. They are even better, and sell for around the £40 mark. :) It's basically the same..............but better. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

P.S. Are you a bottle maker, or a windscreen fitter? ;)

Looked at that screen looks good for the money, but is there anything apps etc. with live update maps.
I know gps must be preferable when out in the sticks.

Sorry, I can't help with that one. :(
There are POIs already loaded, but if you are looking at loading customised POIs, etc, please refer to the reply I posted above, to @Stealaway, and see https://m.facebook.com/groups/1510939042556385 if you are registered on Facebook. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
