Crossing to Morroco

Hi
We have travelled from uk with pet dog and currently in Portugal . Our dog had come from uk on a pet passport and a health certificate . If we wanted to go to Morocco and return back into Spain would that be a problem ? I know if we left France to uk we would have to have another certificate issued before re entering Europe . Is that the same morroco back into Spain or just a uk money making thing

Hi, you would need to have a titre test for your dog proving the level of rabies antibodies. Once you have this I think you have to wait 3 months from the date of the blood being taken to get back into Spain.
If you already have the titre test you need to visit a vet within the previous 24 hours of catching the ferry for a health check certificate. Then you need to take this certificate (you need an appointment) to the PIF office at the port where they issue a temporary import export licence for the dog.

That has Definately ruled out a visit this time as we can’t wait 3 months in Morocco before our return to uk through Spain

If you do decide to go next year just make sure if you have the titre test done in the UK that it is sent to an EU approved lab. I think there are two in the UK.
There's definitely a few hoops to jump through to get to Morocco with a dog but it is doable.
