Croatia now a Schengen country

Austria double standards, they like to cut the Romanian forests and exploit other resources, but vote against Schengen. That politician can go and do one. EU unity when it suits.

Can see prices increasing☹️
Would not say it was that much cheaper when we went in May but fuel and some other bits were better than other EU countries we came through.

If they join euro zone from January, for sure prices will be aligned to the transition.

Yes I read that too yesterday. Prices will definitely rise and it has scuppered our plans for next May to enable us more time in Spain in the September. We’ll have to just do 2 x 6 week trips now rather than our preferred 2 x 60 nights to keep within our insurance requirements ☹️

Hang on, have I misunderstood something? I thought the 90/180 rule was for Europe, nothing to do with Schengen which is a different regime (although mostly aligned, but not all...) So if Croatia is a member of EU nothing changes?
Or is the 90/180 rule for Schengen countries only? Confused.com.

Croatia joined the eu in 2013, they're now joining the Schengen agreement so the 90/180 rules will apply now. I think they will be converting to use the euro next year too

From January then prices will rise.

90/180 day rules are a Schengen thing, although as you say there is close alignment with EU countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Ireland and Romania are in the EU but not in Schengen), but Croatia will join Schengen on the 1st Jan so will count towards your 90 days from then.
