Bon Jour,

Motorhome gross weight of 4.5 Tn..

Thanks in advance

I don’t think it matters what you put in as it’s corrected via the V5.

We have a 5000kg Hymer and its a M1 category.

Just a tip on submitting the V5 online. Scan it in black and white to keep the file size down.

The Crit'Air category depends on your engine emissions and not the weight. If your van is manufactured 2015 it should be Euro 6 (diesel) so should be category 2.

Ours is rated at 4250kg, 2016 Euro 5 and the sticker we got is Cat 2 - I think I put M1 on the application form

Sorry, that is wrong. Motor Caravans are M1 (Special Purpose)

N categories are for goods carrying vehicles.
All i can say is my application got altered from M1 to N2 as apparently as m1 is for passenger cars.
You may know different?

.5.1. "Motor caravan": A special purpose M1 category vehicle constructed to
include accommodation space which contains at least the following
equipment:
(a) Seats and table;
(b) Sleeping accommodation which may be converted from the seats;
(c) Cooking facilities; and
(d) Storage facilities.
This equipment shall be rigidly fixed to the living compartment; however, the
table may be designed to be easily removable.

The whole document is attached if needed.

I only know because I have read the official descriptions. See Nigel P's post #12 and its attachment.

Exactly i didn't ask 🤔 its how you,ve interpreted it , i clearly didnt ask as no matter what information was going to be given to say i was incorrect the application was altered at source by the people who issue the certificates.
