Hi all…. Would love to hear opinions on this….Is it just me or is the crit air website really difficult? I’m finding it ‘ clunky ‘ to enter details and also not really understanding some of the criteria . What does the field ‘mark’ mean? :active:

Done!! Was trying to do it on my iPad and it didn’t like it…. Pc was fine

Just spent an age battling with it. Kept hanging before the robot test. Turned out that it didn't like the V5 pdf generated by my scanner, even though it claims pdfs are acceptable. Rescanned as jpeg and it was fine.

The size of the scanned document was probably too large for their system. I struggled when I first got one getting it small enough. This time around easy & just waiting for it to arrive, 15 days so far but some say up to 4 weeks.

I battled with it in August for our south of France break last month and found it tough going but IIRC if you access the site using Chrome there is the option to translate to English which gets you 95% of the way. Couple of hours perseverance (as getting the image of the VRD in the right format and size was a right PITA) using iOS and IIRC manipulated the file suffix from .JPEG to .jpg (or vice-versa, sorry can’t recall now) May have even converted to.pdf. Anyway after successfully clearing that hurdle, paid via card and received a confirmatory email within a day or so, and the Crit-air “badge” a couple of weeks later, in time for our break. Can’t say if it was of any major benefit to date but for a few euros it’s there for the life of the vehicle (I think!) and will avoid any future (not insignificant) fine if we happen (unlikely) to stop/park in a LEZ in France. It has a QR code built in so I get displaying low on the off-side of the front windscreen is to assist officials when the vehicle is stationery or parked in a LEZ. The process was like pulling teeth but relieved to have persevered as emissions issues (are not getting any better anytime soon in France especially). HTH.

I am sure that file size was not my problem because I kept a close eye on it. Confirming email followed a few seconds after submission. Agree that it is worth having just in case!
