cracked plastic sink

Hi Guys and gals I have a 2002 MH and the little bathroom basin has about an inch long crack coming out from the plughole area ,sorry I cant provide a picture at the moment,but i would imagine that it is a fairly bog standard moulded white plastic basin.
My question is what to use to repair it ?
i know that plumbers use a plastic weld paste on fittings and was wondering if that would work?
appreciate any advice on this please .
