Been to storage facility today to start preparations for our first big trip of year starting next sunday, I'm checking tyre pressure and wife's inside doing what wife's do and OMG you better come and look at this a 5inch crack in region of plughole in bathroom sink, we were out in it last weekend and it was OK then so total mystery as to how it's happened, anyhow my question is how does one go about getting a replacement and can a temporary repair be made maybe with some special tape, it is a plastic sink and is a 2016 Pilote p700gj, back in the day would have been on phone to Heyes in Walsall 1st thing Monday morning, just a thought I seem to think the Pìlote factory is in North West France and our 1st week to be spent tootling along the Normandy landing beaches, do you think it would be worth trying to contact them ? it won't put us off going but no bathroom sink for 8 to10 weeks will be a pain, any suggestions appreciated.

I would say use these, I know they do sinks and shower trays

Have a look at caravanpanels.com

I replaced my sink a few years ago, they are more sturdy than the original plastic ones.

Cosford caravans have taken over from Hayes, whether they're any good remains to be seen. I have read that the factory are very helpful if they know you are coming 👍

Captain Tolley’s Creeping Crack Cure would be worth a try to get you out of trouble for your forthcoming trip.

I carry a roll of this, for just such emergencies. Can you remove the sink, give it a clean and a rough up and apply this, then go away, enjoy and worry about it when you get back 👍🏻

Follow the link to Amazon and watch the video 😁

Well thank-you so much for your very helpful replies will try for a replacement or repair first, failing that the butyl tape from amazon sounds like a good temporary repair, you know this is why being a member of this forum is a must, we were feeling rather low this afternoon but are now very hopeful of resolving our cracking problems, thank-you all.

Definitely go to the factory if you are able. We have been before, twice, with other vans and they were very accomodating.
Certainly worth a 'phone call. Angers is not too far from where you are travelling to.

Speed coat did mine, a 2007 unicorn of a sink. Great job recommend them.

When Lidl sells their epoxy putty I always buy a couple of tubes. I mended a split/hole in my sink after a heavy bottle fell into it several years ago and it’s still working fine

Gordon

It’s great for lots of jobs as you can screw in to it

So re our cracked sink, guy at speedboat said due to location near plughole repair not recommended and suggested caravanpanels whom I rang and spoke to Mike told him our situation and we lived half an hour away take it off and bring it in he says just a chance may have one anyhow they didn't so he suggested to tape it up and on our return will make a mould of our sink and make us a new one which will be of superior quality.

I had a replacement plastic sink made by Derek Justice grp Leisure. It might be an idea to phone him first just in case he has one instock. Mine was for a 2006 van.
