We went to Palamos for tapas as we were heading home 2200 the locals were just coming out to play.

Platja D'Aro is one of our favourite places. We usually stay in the Hotel Costa Brava, in a room with sea views. It's lovely falling to sleep with the sound of the sea.

Where did you park, please? I'd love to take our MH there.

We've been there a few times, as long as you keep away from the big tourist towns it's great. Not been there in a Moho we did go a couple of times on Harleys stayed on a campsite in a cabin. We're planning to return in January next year on our way to the south of Spain

True Spain we think. We are stsying at Camping Truemal about 2k from town centre. Booked last year, since been taken over by Cap Fun, the Dutch say they are ruining it already pitched loads if cabins where camping used to be. Fabulous site imo though, direct access to beach .
We plan to drive out MG down here in late summer one day if she will make it.
A few vans are street parked over night i have noticed.

Even the old commercialised resorts that attracted the brits in the 70s have had a facelift. Places like Blanes , which I stayed a way from for years, is worth a visit. Llafranc and the resorts next to it seem to have retained their fishing port characteristics and remain beautiful.

There are dogs all over the site

How odd. Their site definitely says no dogs

Is that now site now Cap Fun the new owners. Like i said perhaps honouring last years bookings and no dogs nextyear. Definitely dogs allowed the only other British family have a Spaniel in one of the mobile homes.

The website has no mention Cap Fun. Their privacy policy mentions SERVARAN SL. The are a couple of places across the website where it definitely says no dogs.

Big shout-out to the OP - Platja d'Aro and a host of coastal towns along that stretch between Mataro and up as far as Empuriabrava are largely local tourism and well worth a visit - the best kept secret of the Costa Brava!

I'm local to that area and recommend Blanes - though it can be hard to park there - and St. Pol de Mar, Calella, Pineda and Santa Suzanna.

The beaches are not so much sand as more fine grained gravel and they shelve away very fast (mind the kids) with big waves on a windier day, but this area isn't so crowded as bigger name places and has plenty of amenities when you know where to look for them.
