There has been a lot of posts on here and other forums about the cost of EHU and it being a rip off either metered or included in pitch cost.

We are away this weekend so have the van plugged in getting it warmed through. Until yesterday morning I was heating just on gas but got a text to say gaschad run out so I switched bottles over but then turned heating to Mix 2 (Truma system).

So not scientific but I am looking at my smart meter and what a difference, normally get up and it says it has used about 42p worth of electric, today it was £2.50 more thats just keeping the van at 12° overnight. Now up at £3.50 so looking like £5 a day so IMHO prices on sites who pay considerably more than my capped 15p a kw for their supply are about right.

Trouble is you then get people who use site EHU that have to ensure they get their money’s worth so keep everything switched on if they need to or not.
Obviously this will pilot up cost in the long run.

Depends of course how much you use. We don't bother with an electric kettle and don't have electric heating so for us the payment will probably be more than we use

Wow 😳 I thought I was doing OK with OVO charging me 2p under the capped rate

That’s a brilliant rate, but makes your costs very high, 40p is the current cap
Fixed rate finishes end December unfortunately

Same when we rent our house in Spain out.

One couple used more electricity in a week than a family of 6 did in two weeks.

Don’t think the dummies seem to realise it will just put up prices for next time.

When we go away in a hotel we just naturally turn off what we are not using as we do at home.
As I’ve said before my old Nextdoor neighbour when he had the campsite use to find people leaving heaters on in their awnings while out at work all day!!

Always makes me smile when on a campsite, where you see people running fan heaters in awnings. 🤑🤑🤑

Yes, I’ve had to put €1,200 up across some of the rental weeks, due to high electricity consumption (wasted) . So roughly €65 a week more.
