Hello and apologies as this topic has been covered a number of times before.
I’m about to connect my new battery master to the EBL, searching on here for the easiest solution appears to point towards connecting the BM to the EBL via connecting blocks 2 & 6. However the EBL 119 manual shows 3 terminals that I think are all that’s required at the rear of the EBL I assume (the MH is in storage so I can’t check) the 3 wires are connected and terminated at the rear with terminal screws so can I not just piggyback the 3 BM wires to these 3 or am I missing something?

My take on this is not to use the 3 terminals on the back. These are the main feeds to and from the EBL, and the cables are crimped inside ferrules. I don't feel that the additional connection would be secure. I intend to use the other option. The plug and terminals are widely available.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I didn’t realise the cables were crimped in place, was hoping they were gripped by a clamping screw.
Am I correct then in assuming that block 6 is normally unoccupied (as mentioned I can’t check just yet) so using a Mate n Lok plug to connect the BM?

The cables have a pin crimped onto then which is then held in place with a clamping screw. Not a good idea to put a small cable in with them.

I agree that it is not really practical to connect additional wires to the terminals on the back of an EBL.

You should also be aware that if a B2B is fitted then if there is a cable going into terminal 3, this will be the output of the B2B and does not provide a connection to the actual starter battery positive.

I fitted my equivalent Ablemail unit at the front of the EBL taking an earth and leisure battery positive from existing wiring and connecting directly to the starter battery terminal for its positive.

Mine is connected direct leisure battery to starter battery. Works just fine with very short cable run.

Many thanks for the advice, help and useful links it’s very much appreciated
